If you鈥檙e already an EMT and want to advance your career, our program may be right for you. The 开元棋牌 Paramedic Technology program is fast-paced and intense. We take a limited number of students and admissions are competitive. When you finish, you will be ready to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic Certification Exam.

Program Time Commitment

Please be aware that the time commitment of this program differs from a traditional educational program. Classes are typically held a couple of times a week, are 5+ hours long and are mostly held in the evenings and on Saturdays.

Application Requirements

  • Documentation of high school completion or high school equivalency
  • Documentation of ability to perform college-level work (either placement test results or official transcripts)
  • Proof of current EMT license
  • Proof of one year of EMT Experience or at least 75 Patient Contacts
  • Supervisor evaluation
  • Current American Heart CPR Certification

Note that admitted students must meet additional requirements including immunizations, liability insurance, health insurance, a Criminal/Sexual Offender Records Information (CORI/SORI) check, fingerprinting, and drug testing.

Occupational Risks

The provision of emergency medical services poses inherent occupational risks for EMS responders. Risks include the following:

  • Violence/assaults
  • Verbal threats/aggression
  • Motor vehicle crashes
  • Infectious disease
  • Lifting injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Psychological trauma
  • Hazardous chemical exposure
  • Hyper/hypothermia
