Your acceptance to ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ’s Associate Degree in Nursing program offers you conditional admission to Fitchburg State’s online BS in Nursing program.

When do I start at Fitchburg State University?

Upon graduation from ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ’s Nursing program, and passing the NCLEX-RN exam, you may begin your courses in the RN-BS program at Fitchburg State (courses begin every 7 weeks).Ìý Students will be contacted in their final semester at ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ to discuss the transition to Fitchburg State.

Is this an online program?

The RN-BS program at Fitchburg State is 100% online.

How much does tuition cost?

Tuition for the Associate Degree in Nursing program at ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ is approximately $23,766 (75 credit hours)*.

Tuition and fees for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Online degree program at Fitchburg State is approximately $9,952 (32 credit hours)*.

Please note: additional costs may apply for Gen. Ed. credits, if needed. Students need 120 credits to graduate from Fitchburg State.

Is this program accredited?

Yes. The Nursing program at Mount Wachusett Community College is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing and accredited byÌýthe Accreditation Commission for Education in NursingÌý(ACEN). The BS in Nursing at Fitchburg State University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

What will I have access to at Fitchburg State while I complete my Nursing program at ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ?

Students will be invited to Fitchburg State’s health and nursing related events at the Fitchburg campus.Ìý Students will also have access to a staff representative at Fitchburg State who can assist with any questions students might have along the way.Ìý Questions regarding services should be directed toÌýgce@fitchburgstate.eduÌý´Ç°ù 978-665-3182.

What courses will I need to complete at Fitchburg State to earn my BS in Nursing?

Students who meet the Nursing Education Transfer Compact (NETC) by completing an Associate degree in Nursing from Mount Wachusett Community College and completing the MassTransfer block or having a previous Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college will receive up to 88 credits in transfer.Ìý NETC students do not have to follow Fitchburg State’s usual general education (LA&S) requirements.Ìý Students are required to complete any courses specified by the RN to BS in Nursing major, to complete the global diversity requirement and to meet the minimum 120 credits needed for graduation at Fitchburg State University. Students must achieve a grade of B- or higher in BIO 199 Anatomy and Physiology I and BIO 204 Anatomy and Physiology II and in BIO 205 Microbiology to qualify for the guaranteed admission agreement at Fitchburg State.Ìý¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ students who have received a grade lower than B- in the Biology courses must retake the course for a higher grade in order to meet the Fitchburg State requirements should they choose to begin the Fitchburg State program upon ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ graduation.
