Workforce Access and Education

Workforce Access & Education at Mount Wachusett Community College offers adults the opportunity to gain the necessary training and academic skills to enter the workforce or enroll in a college degree program at ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ. Training courses prepare students for work in Healthcare, Human Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, and other fields. Students will develop skills to start a new career or take their career to the next level.

Healthcare and Education

¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ offers free training programs in Healthcare and Early Childhood Education to eligible residents of North Central Massachusetts. Training Programs prepare students for industry certification exams, exciting employment opportunities, and are offered in person or online over 8-week, 16-week, and 32-week sessions depending on the program.

Certified Nurse Assistant Training (CNA)

Certified Medical Administration Assistant (CMAA) course provides the foundational skills needed to become a Certified Medical Administration Assistant. CMAA’s perform administrative functions in the healthcare industry.

Manufacturing and IT

¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ offers free training programs in Manufacturing and Information Technology to eligible residents of North Central Massachusetts. Training Programs prepare students for industry certification exams, exciting employment opportunities, and are offered in person or online over 8-week, 16-week, and 32-week sessions depending on the program.

Computer Information Systems (CIS)Ìýprovides the skills you need for an introductory-level job in IT support.

Advanced Manufacturing training currently offered is theÌýIntroduction to Robotics course, with immediate Production Technician job placement.

How to apply for a Workforce Training Program

*Applicants are allowed to enroll in one WAE Program of their interest due to Grant requirements.

Please select one WAE grant funded program to apply to. You must successfully complete the training program and find employment in the designated program field.

How to Apply to a CNA Program

  1. Attend a mandatory Information Session
  2. Complete CNA Assessment
  3. Complete Training Inquiry Form
  4. Submit Identification, Medical Release Form, and CORI
  5. Submit ¿ªÔªÆåÅÆ Physical Form and immunization records by application deadline
  6. Attend one-on-one interview with program coordinator
  7. Complete the Intake Form

*All required documents should be returned by the deadline. (These documents will be provided to you during an information session)

Students looking to transfer to the CNA to LPN Bridge program are advised to connect with Admissions first.

  1. Attend a mandatory Information Session
  2. Complete CMAA Assessment
  3. Complete Training Inquiry Form
  4. Submit Identification, Medical Release Form, and CORI
  5. Attend one-on-one interview with program coordinator
  6. Complete the Intake Form

  6. Obtain Placement for CDA required hours
  7. Complete the Intake Form
